Promotions are independent and they are based on the strictly defined outlines. The decision about the promotion to a developer, a senior developer or an expert position belongs to a Team Manager. It also depends on the individual periodical (quarterly) evaluation of an employee. New Team Managers are designated by Division Managers. Promotion has to be motivated and it is taken under discussion in order to make a decision whether to approve or suspend it.
A person who is distinguished against background of the Team may become a Senior Developer. In order to become an Expert, an applicant has to be remarkable in a particular area, also outside the Team. An ability to manage groups of developers is required when applying for the position of a Team Manager.
